Hot in Pink is the brand new experimental pop group formed by the creative team of lyricist/vocalist Mel JS and composer/producer Omnipresence. The international duo are debuting the project in 2023. It is the latest chapter in a collaborative musical journey that began five years ago.

Growing up in South Africa, Omnipresence taught himself to play a number of instruments and loved playing rock & roll. Later he turned to DJing and producing, eventually attending Pointblank Music School in London and studying electronic music production. Hot in Pink represents the evolution of his abilities as a songwriter and producer.

Mel JS grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. However, the multifaceted creator has traveled all over the world, visiting over 40 different countries. She is a singer, ballet dancer, model and poet who finally broke free from unwanted professional training and the expectations of others to devote her life to making music.

“All you Bitches’ ‘ is the debut single from Hot in Pink, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 21, 2023. A chilled downtempo trip-hop beat introduces the track. Soon Mel JS steps to the mic with a braggadocio freestyle melodic rap. She drops a cool and dismissive vibe as Omnipresence uses both electronic and analog elements to paint a groovy noir tapestry.

Born and raised in Istanbul, Mel has impressed people with her talents since she was 4, when she started to dance, sing and act. Her range of expression has always been diverse, from ballet and singing to piano and poetry; at the age of 9, she wrote, directed, and starred in her first musical. Later on, she received advanced vocal training with MTV Award Nominee Glenn Perry.

Omnipresence was born and raised on a farm in the middle of the bush in South Africa. Always drawn to music, his wild upbringing was a perfect match for the chaotic energy of DJing. After one of his early sets, headliner DJ Costa was so impressed he gave him a shot at performing at DJ Costa, one of South Africa’s biggest underground clubs. This eventually led to opening for legendary British DJ Carl Cox at Mother Rave, at the age of 17.

It was while they were studying music in London (Mel at the London Trinity College of Music and Omnipresence at the Point Blank Music School) that the artists met and began collaborating. Their first project, EDM outfit Live Sound Device, resulted in their first single, “Cold Spirit,” with a slew of others following shortly after. Over time, however, the duo realized they wanted to break free from the constraints of the genre. Wanting to include elements of Pop, Funk, Disco, and Rock, the pair decided to form their current project: Hot In Pink.
